Chicago and the Colorado Symphony at Red Rocks July 24, 2011
The rock band Chicago is joining with the Colorado Symphony at Red Rocks on July 24, 2011 to provide a unique musical experience.  The sophisticated sounds of the symphony will accompany the popular songs of the famous pop/rock band. This is the Colorado Symphony’s final event of its Symphony on the Rocks Summer Series. It will be a harmonious pairing of classical instruments and Chicago’s distinctive “Rock & Roll with horns” sound.
Chicago began performing in 1967 and has produced No. 1 hits like If you Leave Me Now and Hard to Say I’m Sorry. Since their start, this hardworking band has been playing, touring, and recording for over 40 years.  Amazingly, they are one of the few major rock bands that have never taken an extended hiatus. The group had a large number of hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s and influenced the proms of two generations with their heartfelt ballads.
The concert will take place at Red Rocks; an event in its own right. If you have never been to the Red Rocks , you are in for a real treat. The natural amphitheater is just west of Denver and is world famous for its breathtaking scenery and superb concert experience.
