Welcome back, maniacs!

I’m heading out on tour with the ‘Witch (find dates for that tour here), so for my next installment, I’ve decided to pull from the vault two gruesome tales of Heavy Metal horror that only the ’80s could so perfectly produce…

First up, the amazing 1988 film, “Black Roses.”

A band of demons, aptly called Black Roses, are disguised in human form, and traveling from town to town hypnotizing and possessing young teenage fans!

Chock full of ’80s cheese, great special effects, and Heavy Metal mayhem, “Black Roses” is fun as hell! Get ripped, and crank up “Black Roses!” You won’t be disappointed…

This next film, is one I recently discovered through our guitar player, N8 Feet Under, and I can’t believe I slept on this one…”Rocktober Blood” from 1984.

Billy “Eye” Harper is deep into laying down vocal tracks for Rocktober Blood’s hot new record when he snaps and murders 25 people.

He’s caught, and sentenced to death. Flash forward a few years, and now his band has a new tour coming up with a new front woman, who previously had a romantic history with Billy.

Now, Billy is back from the grave to seek revenge on his former bandmates, and former back-up singer, Lynn, who also spends a lot of time nude, which rules. Duh!

Tons of fun, gory kill scenes, babes in aerobics gear, and one line in particular about “pussy blood” which is an instant classic! I fucking love this film! The music is killer! This is ’80’s sleaze/cheese at its best! All hail “Rocktober Blood!”
